MATT YEGGE

OWNER/FOUNDER

PT/DPT, CSCS, PES, CES

Altius Performance owner Matt Yegge graduated from the University of Colorado in 2008, where he played football and studied mathematics and secondary education.  Matt's passion to teach, coach and work with others, combined with his love for sports, drove a career in health and fitness.  After a shoulder injury ended his college football career, Matt took a job training at a commercial health club, where he worked to earn club management roles and master trainer certification. Here he found his niche in working with athletes and was inspired to start his own sports performance business.  Altius Performance was established in 2013 when Matt and his family moved to Stillwater, MN with the opportunity to be near family while Matt attended physical therapy school.   Matt graduated with a doctorate degree in physical therapy from St. Catherine University in 2018.

Since 2007, Matt has coached, trained and rehabilitated thousands of athletes, including Olympian, professional, collegiate, and youth athletes.  Matt has worked with IAM’s ACL return-to-sport program and has presented his research on lower extremity movement mechanics and ACL risk factors.

Outside of the gym, Matt’s time is spent with his wife Danielle, and his children, Cooper (13) and Oakley (9). Matt and his family are actively involved at the EagleBrook Church Woodbury campus, and Matt serves as a coach for the FCA Huddle at St. Croix Preparatory Academy.
